Church was very uplifting today. It was so full and the overflow was full, too. There quite a few families who have moved into the ward. The babies in the ward are adorable.

We now have 50 baby quail in the brooder, 5 adult female, and 1 adult male quail in a cage in Cheri's home, on the wood stove. Of course, the wood stove in not on. The baby quail have been handled by people so they are calm while I pet them. Their brooder is in the glass green house so they don't freeze. It will be below 30 degrees tonight.

Cheri and I have joined a family gym that has two inside, heated pools and one outside pool. They have other fitness things there. We start tomorrow and we are ecstatic. Cheri feels no pain when she is in the pool and it will be some exercise for her. I am looking forward to swimming myself. I am way out of shape so I expect it will take me a while to be a good swimmer again.

I am so happy to be able to blog. It is the first time in quite a while I have been on the internet in quite a while. I have been busy with unpacking, problems which crop up here and with Cheri. It is wonderful to be able to think of and do other things. Mike has been working on the plumbing for days. He has solved some major issues, but there are still some problems to work out.

Holidays

Papaw is safely home. We are very happy to have him home. We decorated the day after Thanksgiving. Christmas will be full of love for all of our families, but money is short. The chickens are doing fine. We are getting 11 to 20 eggs a day. They are all healthy. The green house is a fourth done. It is cold, but not as cold as some of you are. The snow melted as soon as it fell. We saw the movie "Old Dogs" and it was hilarious! I will be getting cards out soon.

ISeptember 20, 2009

It has been hot. I have been busy. I did not go to church today because Papaw was sawing heavy Plywood and I did not want him alone doing it. I am sweating up a storm. Cheri's doctor said she is cancer free! Hurray! He also said she will be struggling with tiredness and weakness for another month.October, she sees a doctor about her hip. We are all as well as can be expected. Papaw and I stay busy. Papaw is usually the cook by his choice. The food is good, so I am not complaining. Mike is still fixing the truck. We love you.

Sept. 6th

I went to church today: Boerne Second Ward. They were very friendly and it is the ward we are in. I can hardly wait for Mike to get here. He will make lots of friends. We finally got some rain last night. We need much more, but I am sure there are lots of places that need rain.

We are getting ready to move to Texas. Mike will have his medical proceedures August 5, 2009. It should go smoothly. We are looking forward to moving and getting settled. We have chickens waiting for us.
We want to stay in contact with our wonderful family so I am starting this blog. Eventually, we will post pictures and so on. As we get ready for the move, I have been busy with my calling and with knitting. We have had lots of fun with the grandchildren and their parents.
